Being okay, happy, and, worry-free is a need, a should, and a want. People need and should be okay because that’s what others expect from them but at the same time not everyone is okay and not everyone is happy. Everyone faces their own frustrations in life and it just makes it harder to think that at the end of the day you need, should, and most importantly want to be okay, happy, and free from nuisance.
It is given that people should always know what to do. They always have to be decided with everything in order to label themselves as successful or happy. They tend to hide their inner thoughts to themselves, and they rarely get the chance to let loose. So in that spur of the moment, with help of paint, through this piece entitled Need. Should. Want. the group was given the chance to release their internal sentiments and exasperation. Our catharsis and cleansing was achieved through this art making process, through painting without any planning with the total spirit of spontaneity and letting loose which we rarely get to do.
